Art imitating Life…
Liam Alex Heffron plays the skeptical historian, Finbarr, in the award-winning movie Prospect House (2023) - Best new Irish Feature at the CIFF. Most recognized as police officer Sean Doran in Ireland's most popular TV drama, Fair City, Liam is also known for his roles in the comedy series Hardy Bucks and award-winning short film Top of the Rock (2015). Founder of 919 Films — its latest release being the comedy short-short, Speed Dating (2024).
An award-winning PhD historian with the University of Galway, with noted peer-reviewed publications, Liam also became a regular stage actor on the local circuit, studying at Galway Theatre Company and producing his stage plays, The Tinker's Blade and 1798, The Year Of The French. Liam later trained with the Irish Film Academy (Dublin), Howard Fine (Los Angeles) and Anthony Robert Grasso (New York).
Moving to Los Angeles in 2024, he is presently working on several projects including producing the online series Breaking Hollywood - a satirical take on actors’ desperation to make it in La-La Land. Liam Alex also writes a weekly column for the Western People newspaper, repeated in his blog, ‘Hollywood and Heffron’.
