This hands-on practical workshop will entail breaking down a script, developing a character, blocking for TV and Film in Ireland and the UK, scene work and delivering authentic performances. You will have the opportunity to watch and learn from your performance on screen during the workshop. Please note however, this workshop does not include the filming of showreel scenes. As well as working on scene, Baz will give some career driven advice on how to break down the barriers to get yourself seen in Ireland and the UK.

Baz Black is an Actor/Writer/Director and founder of Sure Look Productions. He will direct the major movie biopic Crashed & Byrned, based on Formula 1 racing driver Tommy Byrne, later this year, while his own Repent movie goes into production in January 2026. Baz has been on Network Shows such as Into the Badlands, KIN (season 1 & 2) and Brassic. He has written & directed 7 Award Winning Short films including Merrow and Reflection. His debut Feature Film, Dublin Crust, recently spent 6 weeks in Irish Cinemas and was long-listed for no less than 5 IFTAs.

As an Actor/Director, Baz can relate to the struggles an actor can face and approaches his mentoring style based on the fundamentals needed to maintain a career in the industry. As a Director, he loves authenticity and feels this can be clouded with conflicting information. This workshop will be focused on delivering an authentic performance. Baz has a keen eye for casting and loves to work with driven actors.

Baz Black is an award-winning Actor/Writer/Director from Ireland best known for playing Ged Delaney in Season 1 & 2 of AMCS IFTA Winning show 'KIN' Chalky in Season 6 of 'Brassic' and as Writer/Director of the smash hit feature film 'Dublin Crust' that he wrote, directed and stars in was released in cinemas in September 2023. Baz founded his production company 'Sure Look Productions' in 2017. He wrote and directed his debut Short Film 'Reflection' which won numerous Awards including 'Best European Short' and "The Albert Pyun Award for 'Best Director' His second Short Film 'Merrow' based on Irish Mythology once again received many awards including 'The Overall Spirit of the Festival Award' and "The Hollywood Reporter Award' in LA for Best International Short. He wrote and produced TV Series 'Just Messing" and is Co-Creator of 'Farlight' a Horror Canadian feature film that he will also star in.

Pre-Production has begun on his second feature 'Repent' and principal photography will begin later this year.

Baz is an accomplished acting workshop leader and mentor coach, renowned for his engaging approach to performance arts. He is a sought-after keynote speaker at various events, where he shares his insights and experiences in the industry.
